Hurricane Juan

Posted in by Administrator on the September 28th, 2006

Hurricane Juan blew into our coast on September 28, 2003.  We usually have many near misses, or ‘fringe winds’ but this was a direct hit.  Living facing the full force of the wind as it roared in from the water, the power went around ten at night (and for a whole week thereafter) and in the darkness it sounded just like an express train traveling through, which was how I had always been told a hurricane sounded.

The pictures were taken by many people, myself included at the time, and I am sorry I was not provident enough to have noted each photographer.  So thanks to whomever, we will all enjoy the record.
